Description
ENGLAND: (1685-1688) King James II Gold 1685 Guinea. OBVERSE: Head of King's Bust facing Left. First Laur. Bust, LEGEND: IACOBVS II DEI GRATIA. REVERSE : Crowned cruciform shields, sceptres in angles. Edge Milled. Finding James II coinage has always been difficult due to the short reign. Aside from this many guineas fell victim to being used in jewellery during the Victorian period, so it's always great to find a coin especially of this reign that remains problem free. The coin itself has some light wear to the hair, eye and to the shields on the reverse. We grade the coin in Very Fine Condition.
