Description
GREAT BRITAIN: (1820-30) King George IV 1823 Laur Head Gold Sovereign. OBVERSE: George IV laur Head Portrait facing left. Lettering GEORGIUS IIII D:G: BRITANNIARUM REX F:D: REVERSE: Benedetto Pistrucci's St George and Dragon with date in exergue. The coin has seen some heavy circulation and has some damage to the obverse and reverse between 2'oclock and 6'oclock positions on the coin. Nevertheless, this is the second rarest year of King George IV's reign and has a Rarity 3 grading in Michael Marsh. There remains some pleasing detail despite the damage and therefore we would grade the coin overall as Fine Condition. A very Rare Coin to find in any grade!
