ENGLAND : (1727-60) KING GEORGE II GOLD LIMA GUINEA - OBVERSE: Intermediate Laur head facing left, LEGEND: GEORGIUS.II. DEI. GRATIA. LIMA below bust. Toothed border. REVERSE: Crowned Quartered Shield of Arms, date separated by the crown. LETTERING: M.B.F. ET.H.REX.F.D.B. ET.L.D.S.R.I.A.T. ET.E. The word 'Lima' below the bust signifies the origin of the gold and silver coinage mined in (Lima Peru) which was captured by Admiral Anson (A Royal Naval Officer) in 1745 during his raids on Spanish Ships carrying treasures. Finding this coin is difficult as they seldom come to market. The full guinea is in a good Very Fine Condition, with reddish lustrous toning and a die flaw to the reverse lettering.
