Description
ENGLAND: (1660-85) 1668 King Charles II Gold 5 Guinea . OBVERSE: First bust with pointed Trun. LETTERING: CAROLVS.II.DEI.GRATIA. REVERSE: Crowned cruciform shields, sceptres in angles . Date either side of the Crown. regnal year on the edge in words Vicesmo on the edge. The Coin has previously been mounted, however the jeweller has skillfully removed most trace of solder and the coin still has some pleasing detail. Good Fine to near Very Fine condition. The most facinating fact about Five Guinea pieces apart from the shear size, is the fact that only people from high society would have been the privileged few that could of possibly handled and owned such a coin - maybe even royalty!
