Description
GREAT BRITAIN: (1837- 1901) QUEEN VICTORIA YOUNG HEAD 1879 LONDON MINT GEORGE & DRAGON GOLD SOVEREIGN R4 EXTREMELY RARE. Just 20,013 of these coins were originally struck and many would have been melted down or used in jewelry. OBVERSE: Young portrait of Victoria facing left, Lettering: VICTORIA D.G BRITANNIAR. REG. F. D. W.W. on the trun. Nothing below the bust denotes London Mint. REVERSE: St. George slaying the Dragon with date below exergue. This coin has some surface hairlines and nicks on several parts of the edge. The coin has no solder, but may have been in sovereign friendly mount. However, the coins rarity is R4 in Michael Marsh and this is an extremely difficult coin to find. A great addition for a sovereign collector!
Condition
Good Fine Condition - may have been in sovereign friendly mount.
