GREAT BRITAIN (1910-36) King George V 1926 Perth Mint Gold Sovereign. Obverse: Bare head of George facing left, legend GEORGIVS V D.G. GRITT: OMN: REX F.D.IND:IMP: with designers initials on the trun. REVERSE: George and the dragon, date below and B.P to the right. The coin has been graded by NGC as MS62, it's in Mint Condition. Just 1,313,578 coins were struck for this year at the Perth Mint. Taken from 'Coin Facts Wiki' - (The first specimen was lot 20192 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $3,220. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V gold Sovereign 1926P, MS63 NGC, fully lustrous, very scarce date and mint, especially in this designation." The second specimen was lot 3382 in Goldberg sale 67 (Los Angeles, January 2012), where it sold for $1,437.50. The catalog description[2] noted, "Australia. Sovereign, 1926-P. George V. Reverse: St. George slaying dragon. Very scarce date. NGC graded MS-61.) A rare and attractive coin. Good Luck! This one is graded by NGC as MS62.
