Description
CANADA: (1911-1936) King George V 1914 Gold Canadian $10 PCGS Graded MS63 from the Royal Canada Gold Hoard. This highly sought after coin is graded in Mint State 63 by NGC and is one of the first ever gold coins to be produced in Canada! As they were released in such limited numbers they have always commanded great interest from collectors! Minted between 1912-1914 and with only two denominations the five dollar and the ten dollar the price has sky rocketed in recent years. This Stunning example features one of my personal favorite portraits of the Crowned head of King George V, lettering GEORGIVS V DEI GRA REX ET IND IMP. REVERSE: The coin depicts the De facto Coat of Arms adopted in 1868; this was the first symbol of Canada to appear on a coin. Canada's official Coat of Arms decreed by King George was not adopted until much later in 1921. This is a rare and beautiful central piece to any collection. Kept in a hidden vault for over 75 years to help fund the War effort, this is rare opportunity to buy a coin with such a unique story of the First World War.
