Description
GREAT BRITAIN: (1952-Present Day) Queen Elizabeth II 1989 500th Anniversary of the First Sovereign Gold Proof Sovereign. Obverse: Portrays her majesty seated upon the Throne. Legend: ELIZABETH.II.DEI.GRA.REG.FID.DEF. Reverse: The reverse depicts a Shield of Our Royal Arms topped by an open Royal Crown, upon a double Rose (Known as the 'Tudor Rose'), and with the circumscription 'ANNIVERSARY OF THE GOLD SOVEREIGN 1489 - 1989'. The coin in capsule only cannot be attributed FDC status, however the minor hairlines to the obverse (which are less noticeable than the image portrays)were taken in bright sunlight and are much less to the eye. A very nice example of a much loved and highly desirable coin .
