GREAT BRITAIN: (1952-Present Day) Queen Elizabeth II 2010 'Restoration of the Monarchy' Gold Proof 5 Pound Coin. Obverse: Features Elizabeth II facing right. Legend ELIZABETH.II.D.G REG.F.D.2010 Reverse: Depicts a Crown, the symbol of the monarchy, with oak leaves and the CC initials interlinked signifying Charles II. In 1649, following the English Civil War and the execution of Charles I, the British monarchy was abolished and the kingdom became a republic with a new government presiding - the 'Protectorate' - led by Oliver Cromwell. This 5 Pound coin issued in 2010 marks the 350th anniversary of the restoration of the monarchy under Charles II in 1660. Presented in official Royal Mint Box with Certification. The coin is in good condition with no major scratches or dents and doesn't exhibit signs of handling. A beautifully designed coin and one of only 1200 struck.
