GREAT BRITAIN: (1952-PRESENT DAY) QUEEN ELIZABETH II 1997 GOLD PROOF 10 POUND BRITANNIA. Britannia first appeared on a Roman coin imperial coin of the Emperor Hadrian (117-138AD), but she did not feature on English coins again until the reign of Charles II on farthings and half pennies. REVERSE: Features the horse drawn chariot design with Britannia at the helm. Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Britannia series. LEGEND: BRITANNIA 1997 1/10th OUNCE OF FINE GOLD. OBVERSE: Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth facing right. Lettering: ELIZABETH II D.G REG.FID.DEF. 50 POUNDS. The coin comes cased, certified and encapsulated.
