Just 20,013 of these coins were originally struck and many would have been melted down or used in jewelry. Obverse: Young portrait of Victoria facing left, Lettering: VICTORIA D.G BRITANNIAR. REG. F. D. W.W. on the trun. Nothing below the bust denotes London Mint. Reverse: St. George slaying the Dragon with date below exergue.This coin has a rating rarity of R4 in Michael Marsh and this is an extremely difficult coin to find. A great addition for any sovereign collector! This lot is protected by a hidden reserve, which will be implemented should the lot not reach naturally by the Live auction.
