Description
GREAT BRITAIN: (1952-Present Day) Queen Elizabeth II 1994 Bank of England 'Mule' Gold Proof 2 Pound Coin. PCGS PR69 Deep Cameo. Obverse: Third portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right. Legend: ELIZABETH II DEI.GRA.REG.F.D. The 'mule' has a larger portrait of the Queen, and is missing the denomination (Two Pounds) under the portrait. Reverse: The reverse design features the original Corporate Seal of the Bank of England and distinctive Cypher of William and Mary and minted to mark the 300th Anniversary 1694-1994 of the Bank of England. Shortly after the issue was released the Royal Mint sent letters to collectors who had received the 'Mule' to return coins and some did, however many kept the coins knowing it would be highly collectible in years to come. The Mintage is unknown of these so called 'Mules' and this makes the coin highly desirable. Graded by PCGS PR69 Deep Cameo. Population 6, just 3 higher.
