GREAT BRITAIN: (1937-1901) Queen Victoria 1858 London Mint Gold Half Sovereign. Obverse: Slightly larger portrait (obverse 2). Legend: VICTORIA DEI GRATIA. Reverse: Type A with small dot above the centre of the crossed lines. Surmounted shield by Crown, ornate garnishing, Thistle, Rose and Shamrock centrally placed between two small flower stops. Designed by J.B Merlen. Rare. This coin is in good extremely Fine Condition, minor contact marks in the field but a very difficult coin to obtain and especially in this beautiful grade. NB: This lot is protected by a hidden reserve which if not met in the pre-bidding stage will be offered for purchase in the Live Auction.
