GREAT BRITAIN: (1837-1901) Queen Victoria 1841 Young Head London Mint Shield Unbarred A's in Gratia Gold Sovereign. Obverse: Victoria Small Young Head Bust facing Left, First Bust, W.W. in relief, Date below. A's in Gratia without Center Stroke Legend: VICTORIA DEI GRATIA Reverse: First Plain Shield & surmounted by a crown with laurel branches on each side. Legend: BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID:DEF: Edge: Milled. S3852. Rare in any Grade! NGC AU Details Obverse cleaned. The 1841 Sovereign is the rarest date of the entire Victorian sovereign series and is extremely difficult to obtain. This coin has some very good detail especially to the shield and with minor wear to the obverse just above the ear and the high points, and just lightly cleaned. The coin has no unsightly scratches or digs and is a good example for anyone looking to add this rarity to their collection. Census 4 equal/ 8 higher. Rarity 3 Michael Marsh (Extremely Rare).
