Description
GREAT BRITAIN: (1837-1901) Queen Victoria 1884 Young Head Gold Half Sovereign. Obverse: Young head facing left, hair bound with double fillet. Legend 'VICTORIA DEI GRATIA', date below. Reverse: Garnished shield surmounted by a crown. Small flower stop either side of the lower garnish. Edge Milled. MM458. Such a stunning coin in hand and straight from a collection into auction (never been graded). The coin has an unusual strike as pictured with a milled like lines coming from Victoria's forehead and eye. This is not something we have come across before and definitely makes the coin unique. Some minor surface wear, but overall a Near Extremely Fine example.
