GREAT BRITAIN: (1837-1901) Queen Victoria Young Head 1881 Melbourne Mint Shield Gold Sovereign. Obverse: Head of Victoria Young Bust facing Left. Third Head with different hair arrangements, W.W. in relief on the trun & date below. Legend: VICTORIA DEI GRATIA Reverse: Plain Shield & surmounted by a crown with laurel branches on each side. The Mint Mark (M) is Directly above Rose at bottom of the Coin. Legend: BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID:DEF: S3854A. MM62A. Edge: Milled. The coin has a scratch from below her chin to in line with end of her bust. Nevertheless it is a Rare coin and not an easy type to source, good hair detail and reverse shield. Overall Very Fine Condition.
