ENGLAND: (1702-1714) Queen Anne 1709 Elephant and Castle Post Union Guinea. Obverse Second draped bust of Queen Anne facing left, legend ANNA·DEI· GRATIA· and toothed border, elephant and castle below bust. Reverse: Crowned cruciform shields showing the arms of England, Scotland, France and Ireland, around Garter star, scepters in angles, surrounded by abbreviated Latin legend MAG· BRI·FR· ET·HIB· REG·17 11· Edge milled edge. The coin has been harshly cleaned, and lost some of the main detail on the portrait. Some detail remains of the reverse. Rare and only two years exist of this variety. S-3573
