Legend: VICTORIA DEI GRATIA Reverse: First Plain Shield & surmounted by a crown with laurel branches on each side. Legend: BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID:DEF: Edge: Milled S3852. Discovered by a metal detectorist in Norfolk this much desired year (1838) regularly commands a four figure price tag. We are delighted to offer this sought after coin in this month's auction at a start price most collectors will find attractive. The coin has some damage to the outer rim of the edge on the obverse, and a few minor scratches. The reverse has a test above 'D' of DEF. The milling is all intact. A rare date, and an interesting history for any true sovereign collector! Overall in good Fine Condition. ****
