GREAT BRITAIN: (1760-1820) King George III 1820 Closed 2 Variety Gold Sovereign. Obverse: Head of George III Bust facing Right. Date below trun. Legend: GEORGIUS III D:G:BRITANNIAR:REX F:D: Reverse: St. George & Dragon. Legend Lettering: HONI.SOIT.QUI.MAL.Y.PENSE. Edge: Milled. The Sovereign has such beautiful detail with a few scuff marks in the field. It has been removed from jewelry with only minor folding on the outer rim with a tiny trace of solder on the milling (which is intact). A fantastic opportunity to buy a hugely desirable coin with an attractive eye appeal.
