ROMAN EMPIRE: Diocletian, AD 284-305 ROMAN EMPIRE BI Nummus. Diocletian served for two decades as Rome’s Augustus, embarking on economic, military, and political reforms. Obverse: Diocletian’s laureate bust, donning an imperial mantle, and holding an olive branch and a mappa.
