ENGLAND: (1685-88) King James II 1686 Full Guinea. Obverse: Second Laurette head facing left. Legend: IACOBVS.II.DEI.GRATIA. Reverse: crowned cruciform shields, sceptres in angles. Date either side of the Crown, MAG. BR. FRA. ET. HIB REX. Anyone who knows anything about guineas understands the difficulty in obtaining a King James. With the short reign and very little gold produced in this time is it any wonder many settle for low grades or ex-mount coins from this period? Here we have another Super Rare coin for you! Graded by NGC AU58 this is the second finest graded out of just 16 graded in total! NB Please note this lot is Protected by a hidden reserve.
