GREAT BRITAIN: (1910-1936) King George V 1925 High Rim London Mint Gold Sovereign. Obverse: King George V Bare Head. Lettering: GEORGIVS V D.G. BRITT: OMN: REX F.D. IND: IMP: Reverse: St. George and the Dragon with date below with B.P. to the right of the date. In 1940 Great Britain was fighting for her freedom and gold Sovereigns were needed for Special Agents and Airmen shot down behind enemy lines. The Royal Mint and the Government secretly agreed to strike Sovereigns for those Agents and Servicemen. All Coins were dated 1925 with a special 'High Rim' to distinguish them from the normal issue.
