Description
GREAT BRITAIN: (1837-1901) Queen Victoria 1866 possible 'Roman I' London Mint Shield Gold Sovereign. Obverse: Second large head facing left, legend VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, W.W. incuse, possible Roman I in date. Reverse: Plain shield, surmounted by a crown, die number 21. The coin is quite an interesting find as there appears to be a Roman I in the 1 of the date, and an overstruck 6/6 or 6/5. Nevertheless it has seen a little circulation but a very interesting coin for a variety collector.
