ENGLAND: (1660-1685) King Charles II 1678/7 Gold 5 Guinea. Obverse: King facing Right. Second Bust. rounded trun. Legend: CAROLVS.II.DEI.GRATIA. Reverse: Four Crowned Shields with sceptres in angles. Legend: MAG.BR.FRA.ET.HIB REX. Edge: Plain with raised lettering: DECVS ET TVTAMEN ANNO REGNI TRICESIMO S3331. The coin has been skillfully repaired probably by a talented jeweller. This is not easily spotted on first viewing but on a much closer inspection the repair looks to be on the right side of the crown above the shield at 9'0 clock. Some nice attractive detail to both obverse and reverse and would command a five figure sum under normal circumstances. A rare chance to buy this much loved coin 'Five Guinea' at a very reasonable price.
