1841 VICTORIA GOLD INDIAN MOHUR. Obverse: Queen's Young Head Portrait facing Left with Date below. Divided Legend. LETTERING: VICTORIA QUEEN 1841. REVERSE: Lion & Palm Tree. LETTERING: EAST INDIA COMPANY ONE MOHUR. Mintage 442,000. The Indian Gold Mohur was first introduced between 1540-1545 to unite the various tribes in India with a single form of currency. Only four British Monarchs featured on the Mohurs which were William IV, Victoria, Edward VII and George V. The coin is in a Good Very Fine Plus Condition with just a minor edge knock at 8'0clock on the obverse rim. The coin has retained much of it's original luster and is a highly sought after by collectors.
