ENGLAND: (1702-1714) Anne 1703 Vigo Silver Sixpence graded by NGC AU55. Obverse: Draped Bust facing left, legend; ANNA.DEI. GRATIA. VIGO Reverse Plain in angles ;top centre of each shield indented. Before Union with Scotland. S3590. Vigo below the bust denotes the origin of the silver captured after Admiral Sir George Rooke Commander-in-chief was returning home and learned of a Valuable Spanish Treasure Fleet had anchored at Vigo Bay in North West Spain. The Anglo-Dutch fleet captured every ship not already burnt by the French, along with considerable amount of treasure.'
