Description
GREAT BRITAIN: (1760-1820) King George III 1820 Gold Half Sovereign. Obverse: Head of George III Bust facing Right. Date below trun. Legend: GEORGIUS III DEI GRATIA Reverse: Angular Shield surmounted by the Royal Crown. Legend: BRITANNIARUM REX FID:DEF: Edge: Milled. S3786. The coin has come from a collection that has never been slabbed or attempted to be slabbed - it's from a customer who purchased coins in the era when slabbing didn't exist. So please do not be put off by the raw aspect. The coin is even better in hand and has a bright eye appealing appearance. The O of the 1820 is larger than the other numbers and there is some weakness (common with early half sovereigns) to the reverse shields. The coin is Extremely Fine, and will be a great addition to any collection! Rarity 2, Michael Marsh Very Rare. Photographed in daylight and false light.
