Description
GREAT BRITAIN: (1760-1820) King George III 1818 Gold Sovereign with ascending colon and space between space between REX and F:D. Obverse: Head of George III Bust facing Right. Date below trun. Legend: GEORGIUS III DEI GRATIA. Reverse: Angular Shield surmounted by the Royal Crown. Legend: BRITANNIARUM REX FID:DEF: Edge: Milled. The coin in Good Fine Condition has some interesting characteristics. Including a miss struck second '8' and Ascending Colon after BRITANNIAR Clear space between REX and F.D. Whilst the coin does have some obvious wear to the hair, ear and neck obverse side it has retained it's original lustre. A few edge knocks tell the story of some untimely drops over the years, but nevertheless the coin doesn't seem to have been mounted or used in jewellery. A great example of this tough year to obtain.
Condition
Good Fine with original lustre.
