GREAT BRITAIN: (1820-1830) King George IV 1827 Bare Head Gold Sovereign. Obverse: George IV Bare Head Portrait facing left. Legend lettering: GEORGIUS IV DEI GRATIA with date below bust. Reverse: In the centre the Crowned Shield. Legend lettering: BRITANNIARUM REX FID: DEF: Edge: Milled. (S3801 / MARSH 12). Very Fine Condition with scratches to both obverse and reverse. Rated Scarce in 'The Gold Sovereign Series' Michael A Marsh (revised by Steve Hill). A great coin to obtain if planning to purchase the new 2025 'Shield' Sovereign which is the 200th anniversary of this design.
Condition
Very Fine Condition, both obverse and reverse have some surface scratches to the portrait and to the reverse field. However, the coin has original reddish lustre.
