Elizabeth II bust facing right. In small letters below the bust, the designers initials J.C Legend: ELIZABETH II D.G.REG.F.D.50 PENCE.2021. Reverse: In centre a small seven-sided like that of a 50 pence coin, with the inscription on three lines 1971 DECIMAL DAY. In the background, parts of the designs of British pre-decimal coins; clockwise from top: two shillings (also known as a florin), shilling (English variety), a wren farthing, a brass threepence, a sixpence, a ship-type halfpenny and the figure of Britannia from a penny.
