Description
GREAT BRITAIN: (1837-1901) Queen Victoria 1858 Young Head London Mint Shield Gold Sovereign. Obverse: Head of Victoria Young Bust facing Left, Second Large Head, Large Date, W.W. in Incuse, Date below. Legend: VICTORIA DEI GRATIA Reverse: Plain Shield with Repositioned Legend & surmounted by a crown with laurel branches on each side. Legend: BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID:DEF: Edge: Milled. S3852D. Rated Rare in 'The Gold Sovereign Series' Michael A Marsh (revised by Steve Hill). The coin has seen considerable circulation and is slightly polished, however it's a rare year and despite the scratches and edge nicks has some nice detail.
