RETRO / COMMEMORATIVE ISSUE: This limited edition coin dated 1937 King Edward VIII on the obverse was struck in 22ct Gold and with a limit of just 250 coins. It was produced to bridge the gap for sovereign collectors wishing to obtain the 'Edward VIII' coin for their collection. Struck in .916 gold, weighing 8 grams and 22mm in diameter, just like any other sovereign only NOT produced by the Royal Mint has been graded by PCGS PF69 DCAM. Edward VIII abdicated the throne in December 10th 1936 to marry the love of his life 'Wallis Simpson' a divorcee actress. There was much controversy surrounding their relationship and Wallis was denied a Royal title by King George VI whilst Edward took the 'Duke of Windsor' title.
