GREAT BRITAIN: (2022-) King Charles III 2025 Gold Proof Half Sovereign Obverse: Featuring the Bare head portrait of Charles III by Martin Jennings. Legend: CHARLES III.DEI.GRA.REX.FID.DEF.2025. Reverse: The historic reverse inspired by the Sovereigns of George IV. Centred on a royal shield of arms with a crown above, the design is the work of 19th-century engraver Jean Baptiste Merlen and first appeared on 1825 Sovereigns. 200 years on, the motif has been remastered for use on the final rose-gold Sovereigns.
