GREAT BRITAIN: (1820-30) King George IV 1828 Bare Head Gold Sovereign. Obverse: Second head, bare head portrait facing left with date below. Legend: GEORGIUS IV DEI GRATIA. Reverse: In centre a garnished shield which is surmounted by the royal crown & bearing the Ensigns Armorial of the United Kingdom. Legend: BRITANNIARUM REX FID: DEF. Rarity 4 Michael Marsh (15-25 examples known). Estimated mintage of 386,182 - however it is believed that far less of this date exist due to the coins production starting in December 1828. This example was last auctioned at St James Auction 57, Lot 19 2022. The coin is in an Extremely Fine Condition, and extremely Rare coin in any grade. A very rare find, and provenance for the most discerning of collectors. Graded by NGC AU55 - Population 1 / 3 Graded Higher (at AU58)
