They had new style letters of uniform size and a curule-shaped 'X' in the legends. London Mint Obverse: King in ship holding sword and shield: a saltire before EDWARD. Legend: EDWARD DEI G REX ANGL D HYB Z AQT - Translates 'Edward by the grace of God King of England Lord of the Irish and Aquitaine.
