COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMAS: COMMEMORATIVE ISSUE: 1974/ 1975 1st & 2nd ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE SILVER PROOF 10 DOLLAR. Issued by the Franklin Mint these large coins are sealed in cardboard and cased. Obverse features Sir Milo B. Butler Governor-General of the Bahamas, and the words 'First Anniversary of Independence' 1973. The reverse carries the National coat of arms. The ship in the centre of the heraldic shield is the Santa Maria flagship of Christopher Columbus. The 1975 Obverse carries the nation 'Coat of Arms' with also the flagship boat 'Santa Maria'. The reverse features a beautiful yellow elder, the national flower of the Bahamas. Both are sealed in cardboard and boxed and certificated. Each contains 1.445 troy ounce of Pure Silver.
