TURKISH: 1923 These coin are not often offered for sale. 500 Turkish Piastres (also known as Kurush) Gold coin struck in 22 carat gold. All dated around the late 1990s - early 2000s. Interestingly they are marked 1923 (the year that the Turkish Republic was founded). Adding the two numbers gives the year of mintage. HAKIMIYET MILLETINDIR ANKARA and TURKIYE CUMHURIYETI. Weight is 36.08g
