GREAT BRITAIN: (1837-1901) Queen Victoria 1876 Young Head #Die 75 London Mint Gold Half Sovereign. Fourth Portrait. Obverse: Queen's bust facing left. Hair ribbon narrow with Date below bust. Legend: VICTORIA DEI GRATIA. Obverse 4 by Marsh (1876 - 1880): Again the bust is increased in size as compared to earlier coins, causing the bun in the Queen's hair to almost touch the G in GRATIA and this time the wider front ribbon on the top of the head is replaced by one that matches the others in size. No designer's initials W.W. at the truncation. Reverse: In centre a garnished shield quartered with the arms of England, Scotland, Ireland & Legend & surmounted by Royal Crown. Legend lettering: BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID:DEF: Re-engraved Shield legend and rosettes closer to border, coarse boarder teeth both sides, with Die number 75 below. Edge: Milled.
