SOUTH AFRICAN: 1960 GOLD, SILVER AND COPPER 11-COIN SET - Until 1941 The Pretoria Mint operated as a branch of the Royal Mint , after which the Union Government took over and it became the South African Mint. The 1960 Long Proof Set consists of : 22ct Gold One Pound and Half Pound (sovereign and half sovereign sizes) with the same size and weight as the Sovereign and Half, Six Silver Coins - Five Shilling, Two and a Half Shilling, Two Shilling, one shilling 6d, and 3d. Copper coins 1/2d and 1/4d. Just 1500 were struck for this year and this one comes cased in original case of issue. (Not Pictured)
